Hey all,

UIC-LUG will be hosting a Linux 101 session for students interested in learning how to use Linux. For those of you that find yourself needing to use Linux for one of your courses and do not know how, this session is for you. We will be going over some basic information, including:

- Linux/Open-souce History
- Command Line Essentials
- Compiling and running Java/C++ applications in Linux
- SSH (Secure Shell)
- Changing file permissions
- Forwarding your CS e-mail address
- MSDN: Getting your Microsoft software for free...

If you are interested, we will be holding the session in the Linux Labs next to the ACM office in SEL 2262. It will be held on Monday February 2 at 4:00 P.M.
